International Women's Day | Celebrate Confidence, Shine at Every Stage

Every March 8th, we celebrate International Women's Day (IWD), also known as United Nations Women's Rights and International Peace Day. Yet many reduce it to greetings and promotions, overlooking its core: honoring women's strength, advocating for equality, and celebrating women's diversity and confidence.

A Brief History: IWD Is About Her Power, Not Just Celebration

IWD was born from women’s fight for rights, not mere celebration. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, women across Europe and America protested for equal voting rights, 8-hour workdays, and basic human rights. In 1910, Clara Zetkin, a prominent women’s rights activist, proposed an International Women’s Day at the International Socialist Women’s Congress, which was adopted by 17 countries. The first IWD was celebrated in 1911 with over 1 million women demonstrating in Germany, Austria, and the U.S.

Over a century, IWD has evolved into a global movement for gender equality. In 1975, the UN officially recognized March 8 as IWD, emphasizing women’s rights and peace. Today, it’s a day to celebrate women’s achievements in every field—proving that women are not defined by age or role, but by their courage and confidence.

Life Is What You Make It: Women Explore the World and Rebuild Themselves

As Maye Musk wrote in her book A Woman Makes a Plan: “Life is about moving forward, and confidence is the fuel that gets you there.” This iconic figure, who thrived as a model, entrepreneur, and mother well into her 70s, perfectly interprets the philosophy of “Life Is What You Make It” — women’s life paths are never fixed, and every stage is an opportunity to explore the world and rebuild themselves.

From her early years raising three children alone while pursuing a career in modeling, to traveling across continents to develop her professional career, and even shining brightly on international runways in her 70s, Maye Musk has never let age or life’s setbacks define her. She constantly steps out of her comfort zone, explores unknown fields, and rebuilds her self-worth in the process of forging ahead.

This spirit is not unique to Maye Musk; it belongs to every woman who refuses to be confined. Women explore the world with courage — they travel to distant lands, experience diverse cultures, and broaden their horizons beyond the boundaries of daily life; they pursue their passions unapologetically, whether it’s a career they love, a hobby they cherish, or a dream they’ve held for years.

In the journey of exploration, they encounter challenges and setbacks, but they also gain growth and insight, gradually rebuilding a more resilient, independent, and confident self. Age is never a barrier to exploration, nor a limit to self-rebuilding — every woman has the right to rewrite her life story and shine in her own way.

On this IWD, LLASIDO stays true to our value: “Confident Makeup for Every Stage of Life”. We focus on empowering mature women, firmly believing that makeup is a way to express self-acceptance — it enhances the unique grace accumulated over the years, rather than hiding the traces of time.

At LLASIDO, we focus exclusively on mature skin needs, understanding its changes with time — reduced sebum, fine lines, and loss of luster. Adhering to “hydration first and gentle enhancement”, our products feature hydrating formulas and radiant finishes, avoiding heavy textures that settle into fine lines. Every product is crafted to highlight mature women’s inherent elegance and boost their inner confidence.

This IWD, LLASIDO pays tribute to every mature woman who lives confidently and gracefully. We stand with you, interpreting the beauty of maturity with professional cosmetics, and accompanying you to shine brightly with confidence at every stage of your wonderful life.
